Carp Fishing Rigs

Carp fishing is an exciting sport and even more exciting is learning how to make the best carp fishing rigs. If you are a fisherman, then fishing for this species can be the most fulfilling type of angling. These fish can grow to enormous sizes and are notoriously difficult to catch, which is why beginners might want to seek out some advice or tips before getting on the dams and hoping for the best. Carp fishing is an extremely exciting sport. It allows you to get outdoors and share the camaraderie of aiming to catch the elusive giant.

Carp fishing rigs allow you to present your bait to the fish without it being directly on the hook you are using. There are several different types of rigs, with the oldest type being the ‘hair rig’. In the past the bait was linked to the hook using natural wire (most often hair). However, this was obviously fragile which meant that the fish could easily get away with the bait and avoid the trap. You need to encourage the fish by providing it with food, so that it will keep eating and finally get caught on the hook. Rigs come in a variety of shapes, colours, textures and sizes. The name of the game is creating something that looks tasty to a fish, and is useful for angling.

Several online fishing websites provide tips and advice for the beginners and advanced fisherman. They recommend using a hair rig and a spider line (an extremely strong fishing line for those big fish). Other advice includes using foam dipped in flavour to trick the fish into thinking that the bait is food. Just remember that like most sports, practice makes perfect. If you are just starting out, go on a couple of fishing trips with your family and friends and keep practicing. Carp fishing rigs are sneaky ways to lure the fish – use them!
